Vet clinic Eko asks Supreme Court to revise case with Facebook

MOSCOW, Apr 1 (PRIME) -- St. Petersburg firm Eko, which runs vet clinics, has asked the Supreme Court to reconsider decision of two lower courts that prematurely terminated legal protection of brand Oculus in favor of U.S. company Facebook Technologies,  according to the arbitration cases register seen by PRIME on Thursday.

The presidium of the Intellectual Property Court earlier upheld its lower body’s decision to terminate early legal protection of brand Oculus. The court earlier satisfied the lawsuit partially, keeping Eko’s right to use the brand for some goods and services.

Facebook develops its virtual reality system Oculus Quest with sensor controllers.

According to the Federal Intellectual Property Service, Eko registered trademark Oculus in 2016.
